New Treasures!

                                    Primitive Piece
My newest treasure hunt for another project lead me to stumble upon this awesome antique primitive style shelf solid wood and really old at a local Thrift store. The best part about this find was that the price was just right. It was really warn and not in pretty condition to the average eye, but for me who wanted to paint and redo it, it was just perfect! It was already a really dark chocolate brown wood. So I began thinking about color and really wanted to try something new and bold so I went with this beautiful turquoise color painted and then distressed to let the original chocolate brown shown through to stay with that old rustic feel. I also kept the original hardware and the shelves the dark brown. I love the way it turned out and think this piece has so much potential. It could be used in a kitchen, study as pictured below, in a child's room, or even as a linen closet for a bathroom...the options are endless..

I put this little set together and just fell in love... now I really want to keep it! That's the hardest part I love seeing warn out pieces that people are ready to just get rid of turn into such yummy fun pieces!

This desk was loved for many years in it maple finish, but the varnish was peeling and just needed a little sanding. So I lightly smoothed it out and chose to paint it a buttercup yellow, and paired it with this turquoise painted chair with a paisley print upholstery for a bold chic look love the whole set together, however I will sell them separately.
